They do end up in a relationship for some time and are very in love, though I decided to have them doomed by the narrative because of the events of post game (I have made some slight changes to the story to account for them falling/being in love but the overall story is pretty much the same) so canonically they do not stay a couple but still love each other very much and I cry about my decisions I love pain and misery and having the power to do whatever I want and yet I choose to do this.I have a few different AUs for them that are pretty self-explanatory that you'll see me talk about; No Post Game (the events of post game either do not happen or play out differently so that Volo and Cas stay together), Volo Wins (Cas decides to side with Volo, who wants them to stay with him in both canon and this au, instead of stopping him like in canon), Role Swap (Cas ends up as a Ginkgo Guild Merchant while Volo is a part of the Survey Corps also Cas has a Bidoof/Bibarel as their main partner instead of (Hisuian) Samurott like every other timeline), and Modern Day (modern day setting where Volo is the Sinnoh Champion while Cas is a Trainer from Unova taking on the Sinnoh League and they get into a secret relationship hehe. I've also made it so that (a version of) this AU connects to the canon timeline).I am totally ok with Volo doubles! Let us love this man together.⟡Cas⟡

They're very friendly, though a bit ditsy and weird. Cas is the type to wear their heart on their sleeve so you always know how they're feeling, even if they try to hide/deny it. They can also be a bit stubborn at times, but over time that side of them lightens up. They also have a creative side to them, doodling in their pokedex alongside their notes and occasionally spending time with Anthe and helping her with clothing ideas. Cas is extremely close to Laventon & Rei, considering them as a father figure and brother figure respectively. They're also close with Cyllene & Cogita.Cas' team consists of Mizuto (Hisuian Samurott ♂️) (Main Partner), Hachiko (Hisuian Arcanine ♂️), Tsubasa (Yanmega ♂️), Kaori (Hisuian Lilligant ♀️), Ryutetsu (Hisuian Goodra ♂️), & Shiroshi (Hisuian Zoroark ♂️)⟡Caelum⟡

Despite being kinda considered an outcast by some villagers due to his mom being from another world and still being in love with his father despite what he attempted to do, Caelum is rarely seen without a smile and always willing to help no matter what! He's very smart and likes to tinker with stuff (in a modern day setting with a lot of tech he would thrive lol). However he's very excitable and impulsive and tends to act before thinking. Caelum thinks of Laventon as his grandpa, Rei as his uncle, & Cogita as his aunt. He also has two long time best friends (have yet to draw them); Audra, who is a part of the Security Corps, and Hanami, who is a part of the Medical Corps (and his crush hehe).Caelum's team consists of Dahlia (Hisuian Typhlosion ♀️) (Main Partner), Sterling (Gallade ♂️), Holly (Weavile ♀️), Fritz (Porygon-Z), Circuit (Rotom), and eventually he gets Gira (Giratina) from his mom (and is his other main partner).⟡Nova Sparks⟡
(second pic by @fusenryo2)Nova is a modern day descendant of Cas & Volo and is a Trainer. Her parents (have yet to draw them) are Perseus & Ourania, who are well known in their respective fields. Cynthia is her cousin, and the two are very close, having a bond like sisters. Nova's dream is to not only become a Champion herself and feel confident enough to take on Cynthia in a battle but to also make a name for herself; as much as she loves her family she wants to be her own person and not be compared to/have certain expectations put onto her because of them as often as she does. Nova can be a little shy at times but is very friendly. However, she can also be stubborn and a bit hard on herself. That being said, she has a passionate spirit and will never give up no matter what.Nova is actually very special to me even though I don't always talk about her as much as I should; she was my very first OC ever that I made over a decade ago and was at first also kinda a self-insert, so being able to rework her and bring her back has made me happy, especially since it was easy and fitting to make her a part of the FallenRuins family and make her the descendant of my self-insert, giving her another connection to me hehe 💕Nova's team changes from region to region, however her main partner is Swampert ♂️, and he's always by her side no matter what.That's all I have to say on the FallenRuins lore/family for now if you actually read through all of that I love you and you deserve the world
